About a year ago, when I decided to create my business Quills and Typewriters, I did so to give myself an injection of confidence.

You see I was broken, thanks to my previous job.

I spent the previous year being harrassed and bullied on the daily. They were pressuring me to quit, and I didn’t understand why.

I had done nothing wrong, and regardless of the support I tried to improve the “something”. (I wasn’t sure what it was that I had done wrong.)

Without any proof of my “inability” to do my job, I was faced with a choice. Either quit or fight my employer in court.

Due to lack of time, funds and energy I signed my resignation.

That is when Freelancing came to me.

As I created the writing business of my dreams, I began slowly. I created each detail with such care and love.

I take incredible pride in what I created, as well as all the hard work I put into Quills and Typewriters.

I faced the issue of promoting myself.

I read any book I could find, from Daniel Pink to listening to Rob Williams of Rob, Anybody, and Dawn Show.

I learned a lot, but at the same time, I was baffled.

I didn’t know where to start or what social media platform was best for me.

So I tried it all.

And I failed.

The research was too much for me.

So I took a step back, and that was when I reached out to other bloggers.

The bloggers in my network took me under their wings and helped me find the path that was best for me.

This is how the marketing plan came to be!

Putting together my own marketing packet, I realized there are others out there who struggle just like I did.

That thought alone made me realize I wanted to help out others who are just like me.

Regardless of what you do, blogging, freelancing, etc.
